The Safety Department provides sustainable solutions for our Members in three key areas of risk: construction projects, fleet management, and construction support facilities. Our safety professionals know construction; they all have previously worked in the construction industry.
We understand the value proposition of providing meaningful, targeted, and holistic solutions to save lives, prevent injuries, and reduce the cost of your risk.
We are instrumental in driving continuous improvement through a series of proven methods, including change management, commitment to excellence, Member-specific strategic planning, focused learning, technology tools, Member and industry partnering, benchmarking, and assessments to drive safety performance.
Our Members embrace and use our governing initiative, Project Lifesaver (PLS). Project Lifesaver (PLS) is annual the CEO-led strategy session with requisite benchmarking, driving performance and generating the required executive commitment from all ACIG Members. Our overarching goal is to support the ACIG mission by saving lives, preventing injuries, and reducing losses across all dimensions of our Members’ business operations, not just construction.
The Safety Department works with each Member to identify their strengths in safety management and creates a road map for success and continuous improvement. This is accomplished by creating a tailored Strategic Safety Plan (SSP). The SSP helps to identify risks, create performance indicators, measure against past performance, and generate leading indicators. This includes a strong focus on Serious Injury and Fatality (SIF) risks as well as Near Miss/Near Hit information to develop continuously improving performance.
We understand and embrace that every incremental decrease in PLS statistics means we saved lives, and more of your employees went home safely.
We work together as a team through collaboration, consensus decision-making, and partnering to provide our Members with the tools and resources to achieve safety excellence. Too often safety is measured and managed by lagging indicators. Our focus is on leading indicators, helping our Members drive safety performance in the field, improve business operations, increase efficiency, and pivot to mitigate losses before they occur.
