FAQs

Are there minimum coverages that a Member would obtain through ACIG?

It is expected that each Member, minimally, place their General Liability and Workers’ Compensation insurance with ACIG.

ACIG provides a general liability policy limit of up to $10,000,000. ACIG provides workers’ compensation with statutory coverage. It is rare for a captive to be able to provide such limits.

Is there a minimum level of premium that ACIG targets?

$3,000,000 is the ground-up premium minimum that makes the ACIG Program viable for a prospective Member. This can be any combination of General Liability, Workers’ Compensation, Automobile Liability, and CCIP.

What other coverages does ACIG underwrite?

ACIG also writes the following coverages:

  • Automobile Liability with limits up to $5,000,000.
  • Contractor Controlled Insurance Program (CCIP) which can include General Liability, Excess Liability, and Workers’ Compensation.
  • Supplier / Subcontractor Default Insurance (SSDI) with limits up to $5,000,000.
  • Auto Physical Damage
  • Deductible Reimbursement Policy
  • Surety Reinsurance

What coverages does ACIG provide through its Risk Purchasing Group?

ACIG utilizes its Risk Purchasing Group to provide the following group programs:

  • Contractor Pollution and Professional Liability Insurance (CPPI) with group limits of $100,000,000.
  • Cyber Liability Insurance with group limits of $50,000,000.

How many Members does ACIG currently have?

ACIG currently has 40 active Members.

What is the maximum number of Members ACIG can have?

ACIG’s Executive Committee (made up of its Members) has set a limit of 40 active Members. It’s unlikely that the membership limit will change given the desire for the Members to truly know those who they are sharing risk with.

What is the capital requirement for a new Member?

A stock purchase of $75,000 is required, along with purchase of a subordinated debenture equal to 10% of the estimated annual first-year premiums for the Member.

Can I use my local insurance broker?

Yes. When ACIG was originally formed, the first Members were direct. Now, virtually all new Members utilize the expertise and services provided by their broker.
