Spring Safety/Claims Workshop

The Spring Safety/Claims Workshop was held April 20-22, 2010 at the Hyatt Regency O’Hare in Chicago, Illinois.

The workshop opened with a Keynote Address by Dave Marxkors, Division President of McBride & Son Enterprises, Inc. chronicling their safety efforts and the resulting improvements. Kevin Joeckel of Hoffman Structures, Inc. and Dr. Larry Cole co-presented on leadership behaviors and safety and Sandra Taylor provided insight concerning OSHA trends in the current administration. The concurrent sessions were informative and educational, with topics ranging from updates on current standards and managing jobsite tours to pertinent technology for safety and claims.

On Thursday, the Steering Committee report was delivered by Dave PanCoast from The Danella Companies, Inc., followed by Garrett Burke of Harvard University who educated the group about evaluating contractor safety performance. The always popular Dr. Dawkins concluded the workshop with an “Ask the Doctor” forum.
