ACIG sponsors numerous opportunities for its members to stay abreast of all the construction and insurance industry changes and best practices. These meetings and workshops offer great forums for the exchange of information and to listen to quality speakers both from its member companies and outside industry professionals.
The meetings and workshops enable attendees to engage in meaningful discussions and dialogue regarding pressing issues that confront risk, safety and claims managers. Leading construction and insurance professionals are always included as session speakers. What makes our workshops successful is the combination of great topics, location, quality speakers and the interactive nature of the discussions.
Please see below for a list of our meetings as well as descriptions of each event.
ACIG Builders' Quality Summit
The Construction Industry Institute identified that managing safety and quality were on parallel tracks and that developing a quality culture is one of the keys to improvement. In an effort to improve the quality of work on our projects and to develop best practices, we have developed an ACIG Builders' Quality Summit to be held every two years, with the next meeting scheduled for 2016.
In 2006 ACIG began an initiative to educate future leaders within our members about risk management and ACIG as a whole. The curriculum for this meeting has been developed to provide an interactive learning experience. This in-depth program is targeted at senior management and future leaders.
This annual meeting is designated as one of our key initiatives in Project Lifesaver and is deemed to be the most important meeting for the members' executives and senior management personnel to attend. The session enables members to share ideas, best practices and lessons learned through industry group breakouts and relevant topical breakouts throughout the day.
In-House Legal Counsel Forum
Many of ACIG’s members have been adding legal counsel as part of their staff. ACIG has recognized the importance of this trend and the ability we have to bring these resources together in a networking environment. The In-House Legal Counsel Forum provides general counselors a venue to discuss current legal topics as well as to identify and develop best practices.
Professional/Pollution Liability Educational Forum
This educational forum is a venue for very important topics regarding professional and pollution liability exposures for contractors. The program is led by partners Ames & Gough who are leading experts in the area of professional/pollution liability. The meeting covers a wide variety of key topics that face our ACIG members including the types of project delivery methods, professional liability exposures, sub-consultants and hot topics in the market.
Risk Management Workshops
The Autumn Risk Management Workshops provide our members with an opportunity to meet, discuss and share their ideas on risk management and safety within their organizations.
Safety/Claims Management Workshop
Every fall safety, claims and risk management professionals from all over the country are invited to network and learn about issues affecting their organizations. The workshops follow a Tuesday through Thursday format with educational sessions starting on Wednesday morning and concluding Thursday afternoon. While the classroom sessions are very informative, the evening dinners and outings also offer a chance for networking among peers.
