ACIG in conjunction with Ames & Gough, conducted their first Professional and Pollution liability forum on March 11, 2008 at the Hyatt Regency O’Hare in Chicago, IL. The meeting was well attended by enrolled members of the program as well as prospective members. Ames & Gough our intermediary, did an outstanding job in conducting the topical sessions. Key topics included, professional liability exposures for contractors, project-specific professional policies, pollution liabilities including Brownfield and infill projects and various claims studies were reviewed. In addition, hot topics were discussed including BIM, sustainable projects, E-Discovery and JV’s among others.

The August 2007 edition of Business Insurance ranked American Contractors Insurance Group as the 4th largest policyholder-owned alternative risk facility in the world. The ranking was based on gross premiums written in 2006.

On June 5, 2007, A.M. Best published ACIG’s new rating. We are rated as an A (Excellent), Financial Size Category VIII ($100 to $250 million in policyholders’ surplus). A.M. Best’s independent review and rating of ACIG validates our business plan and our successful operating results.
